3 Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last
days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.
8 But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A
day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. 9
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No,
he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but
wants everyone to repent. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly
as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very
elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it
will be found to deserve judgment.
14 And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these
things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are
pure and blameless in his sight.
15 And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be
saved. (2 Peter 3:3, 8-10,14-15 NLT)
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for all your blessings
and mercies, we thank you for your saving grace that has redeemed us and made
us your children -because we have made your Son our Lord and Savior. We come to
you today to pray for our nation and our leaders. We pray for our nation to
repent of the unholy ways the people of our land have lived. We pray for the
hearts of all the people to seek you. We pray for a return to rightful living; living for you and not for their own desires. We pray for our leaders to stand
for righteousness and to call out to the people to join in a declaration of
your Holiness. We pray for all the souls of the lost, that they would leave the
darkness and turn towards your light, that they would repent before it is too
late. We pray for your children to be
diligent in their work for you God, that they would stay faithful to you and
your will for their lives. We pray for this election, that the hearts of this
nation would turn to you and that eyes would see the evil before them and vote for you and our country's freedoms. We pray
for our nation to be restored, and for your hand and favor to remain upon us
all. We thank you and ask you these things in your son Jesus’ name we pray ~
