So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit,
hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. 2 Like newborn babies, you must
crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of
salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, 3 now that you have had a taste of the
Lord’s kindness.
9...for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy
nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the
goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful
light. (1 Peter 2:1-3, 9b NLT)
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that we are chosen, that we
are your very own children, that we have been made holy by your Son Jesus’ righteousness.
Thank you for continuing to teach us through your Word and how to apply it to our lives. We
ask for forgiveness of our sins, sins against you and each other; sins where we
have neglected you and your Word.
We pray for our nation, for a sincere desire to seek you out
and to grow closer to you. We pray for our leaders to draw near to you and to follow your
will for our country. We pray for the lost to no longer stumble on the
cornerstone of our faith – but to be obedient to your Word. We pray for those that call you Lord, to continue praying for an awakening in our nation and that we all would grow closer to you. We thank you for all you have done for us and for our land, in Jesus’ name we pray ~ AMEN!
